Harald Nolte has long dedicated himself to a typically Hessian theme: the apple wine and sparkling Apfelsecco sold under the brand name Roter Adam, which are made exclusively from apples remarkable for their red flesh and red juice, without the addition of red berries. Each bottle carries a so-called “selection statement” on the label, such as Altes Land or Kaiserstuhl, indicating where the fruit was grown, as varying climatic conditions can give rise to very different bouquets. Two of Harald Nolte’s creations won awards for quality (Cider World, Frankfurt).
You can sample the delights of the Roter Adam range at the Lorsbacher Thal (see Restaurant Guide).
