Frankfurt once played a lucrative role in the international fur trade. Today, in the area around the main railway station which had established itself particularly after the Second World War as the hub of the business, there are only a few furriers and fur shops left.
But they still exist. Douvlos (est. 1961), for example, is a third-generation fur fashion company specialising in the finest fur garments, accessories and interiors, made from select materials such as chinchilla, sabel, karakul, mink and fox.
All garments, accessories and articles for the interior are manufactured in Germany combining the latest technologies with passion. The pelts are purchased with certificates of origin at renowned auction houses.
Alterations to, and upcycling of, old furs at fair prices is also possible.
